This Old Town Discovery 158 canoe is from 1994 and in remarkable condition given its age. It was almost always stored indoors. During this era, Old Town Canoe used a superior hull material called Cross-linked 3 layer polyethylene unlike the Linear polyethylene being used today and since the early 2000s.

Cross-linked polyethylene is significantly more rigid and resistant to impact than the present-day linear plastics. Because it can survive bouncing off rocks in whitewater or scraping against concrete, it is highly favored by rental fleets and avid outdoor enthusiasts.

This classic “Disco 158” canoe is one of their most versatile; excellent for touring lakes while also appropriate for paddling untamed rivers with a large payload.
