About Shop Pay Installments offered by NES

NES wants nothing more than for you to feel that the investment into a new outdoor activity or gear package is one of the best investments into your health and happiness you have ever made. We will take the time with you to weigh out all the tradeoffs involved, even if that means we recommend you to a competitor. 

We will also do our part to facilitate a payment method or program that fits with your needs. Beginning April 15, 2025, Northern Explorer Supply will be offering Shop Pay Installments to our already extensive payment options.

Shop Pay Installments works like any traditional payment method as it pertains to being able to take possession of your order as soon as the payment is made. The retailer gets paid in full on your behalf, immediately releases the order to you, and you pay down your balance over time through Shopify’s financier, Affirm.

When you choose to use Shop Pay Installments (SPI), the retailer (NES) is assessed a 5.9% one-time finance charge that the customer will be billed after their order has been placed and before the order is released to them. For example, if your order totals $500, a $29.50 one-time finance charge (5.9%) will billed to you to cover our cost of offering this special method of financing.

If you find that this means of installment-based payments is not the right fit for you, we can set up a deposit and you can pay off your balance over 30 days at no additional charge via our layaway program (please call to arrange). You will receive your items after the balance has been paid in full.
