Mocean Scout XC Recreational Kayak

The Mocean Scout XC is a lightweight yet rugged and versatile touring kayak equipped with a larger cockpit opening, as compared to the standard Scout model. The XC version is designed for easy access, and ample stability--weighing only 44 pounds at 12 feet long.

The Scout XC has a cockpit is 48 inches long by 19 inches wide--spacious enough to make entry and exit effortless, and roomy enough to accommodate a furry companion or child.

It has ample depth and flare in the bow and foredeck areas to withstand light swells and heavy chop with relative ease. The deck arches high ahead of the cockpit to clear spray and provide ample interior room.

A durable and roomy bulkhead hatch is located at the bow and stern. The access covers are large and the storage space is generous--big enough to handle a soft cooler, some camping gear; certainly a couple of days of supplies. The hatch systems are water tight and use thermoplastic partition walls with sealant to ensure complete separation from the cockpit chamber.

The molded handles are contoured for comfortable lifting.

The deck rigging uses recessed and stainless hardware.

The foot braces are bolted into stand-off wall sections—not through the hull-- to increase longevity and stiffness. They allow more foot space and better leg alignment as a result.

The seat is designed to cradle the paddler with extra cushion and hip support. It has a seat back that can be raised from a traditional sea or whitewater kayaking height (lower back) up to a middle back level. It can be angled backward or forward using a cinch-and-lock toggle.
