The NARVA PriLite series kayak by Prijon is a lightweight, nimble, and stable touring kayak German engineered for tailored fitment, graceful speed, and lasting beauty.

This lightweight, thermoformed material guarantees easy handling, especially during loading on and off the car. Its neutral gliding and straight tracking characteristics are maintained by Prijon's world-renowned three-planed chined hull shape providing substantial secondary stability, capable of tight turning and rapid acceleration.

Uniquely, Prijon’s PriLite series of kayaks are “rudder-ready”, meaning that the rudder mount and housing for cable steering has already been installed by the factory. And did you know? Prijon’s rudder systems are among the world’s best given their superior durability, resistance to bending or corrosion, and lifetime-lasting low friction axle and pulley components. Inquire for details.

To maximize the weight distribution for optimal speed and handling, the NARVA lacks a front storage hatch in favor of a top mounted watertight capsule called the TopBox (optional accessory) that is reachable from the cockpit. It doesn’t interfere with the interior space for the paddler’s legs and can be removed when not needed. Still, there is plenty of storage space within the front interior ahead of the feet, although the additional weight of heavy loads may negatively change the tracking and freeboard behavior.

The rear hatch is reliably sealed via a neoprene cover under a durable polycarbonate shell cover. It is generous in size and seals well enough to keep water out in the event of a roll.

Experience why Prijon is considered a legendary brand in the kayaking world, established in 1962.

About the Material

Prijon PriLite kayaks feature UV-resistant, vacuum-formed, and hand-finished ABS construction that rival all other ABS brands; the hull side material is 2 mm thicker than the top side, incorporates fiberglass structure at all joints and stress points, and uses an H-shaped junction box to adjoin the top and bottom sides of the kayak for the ultimate in torsional strength / bond. This is the superior solution versus the methods other brands use such as: A) a tenuous edge-to-edge (only 1 point of contact) welds, or, b) the hull side overlapping the deck side, adjoined by glue or fusion (only 1 point of contact).

The H-shaped junction that Prijon uses involves a total of 6 points of contact. The H-shaped mechanism creates 3 points of contact per side, creates a forgiving junction point to prevent stress cracking, and double-serves as a “rub rail” to protect the boat’s finish. This means far more resilience when storing or transporting the kayak on its side and from other impacts.

Please message us if you would like to see evidence of commonly failed seams from other ABS brands. They can be found through online searches using relevant search terms.

The other enhancements Prijon incorporates that is unique to their PriLite material include:

  • A UV-resistant metallic outer layer,
  • Fiberglass reinforcement around stress points such as where the seat “hangs” or along the keel line,
  • And temperature stable molding processes to ensure consistent plastics density.

PriLite boats are known for speed, stability, and ease of handling. Popular models include the Marlin, Aruna, and Narva.
